Webcam at a watering hole in the Namib Desert, Namibia
Live webcam shows a watering hole for wildlife, which is located among the endless red sand dunes of the Namib Desert, in the Gondwana Namib Park, on the border with the Namib Naukluft Park in Namibia. The camera works in real time and allows you to watch wild African animals that come to this watering place around the clock.
On the live broadcasts from the webcam, you can see such animals as: springbok, wildebeest, giraffe, ostrich, jackal, hyena, fox, long-eared fox, porcupine.
This watering hole never runs out of water as it is fed from a solar-powered well. The well is controlled by a float that opens as the water level drops at the watering hole.
The live cam, like the watering hole itself, is located in a remote corner of the Namib Desert. Therefore, from time to time, there may be interruptions in the broadcast. The mast on which the camera is installed has been around for many years, and therefore it is safe to say that by now wild animals have become accustomed to it and are not afraid of it.
In Gondwana Namib Park (where this webcam is located), all artificial barriers have been removed, creating an area of over 56,540 square kilometers. Wildlife is free to roam between this and neighboring parks and other private guest farms.
The webcam at the watering hole in the Namib Desert works in real time in high definition Full HD format. Live broadcast from the webcam comes with sound.
